Basic Flight FAQ

Q: When trying to BOARD a ship, in the Position screen, i don't see any ship when i hit 'ENTER'.
A: Firstly you must be at the same location than the ship you want to enter. Secondly the ship must be either assigned to you or you must be in the crew list. Mail your CO if the ship/s are not assigned to you or contact your CO or the ship's captain if you expected to be in the crew list. If you are sure they ship is assigned or that you are in the crew list then check the location of the ships by clicking 'Stats' in the Ships Inventory. If you are on a planet make sure that your ships are not in orbit up in the space, if they are then contact your CO for a shuttle to orbit.

Q: I can enter a ship but can't PILOT it.
A:
That means the ship is not assigned to you but that you are in the crew list. You can only stay as passanger in that ship so maybe you are only to be ferried, if you belive you should be able to fly it then mail your CO. Also check if you are in the right Ship, the 'player controlled' one and not in a NPC ship.

Q: I'm piloting my ship but i can't FLY.
A:
You are probably docked in some hangar bay. Undock.

Q: My [Manage Piloted ships] sheet in the ships INVENTORY is empty.
A:
Likely your ship/s have not been assigned to you yet, you can contact your CO if you belive they should had been assigned to you already. However it could also be that you've been assigned as Commander instead of as Pilot, so ships will be listed in the [Manage Commanded Ships] sheet. From there you can assign yourself as pilot and ships will appear in the [Manage Piloted Ships].

Q: How do i get into the CREW LIST of a ship?
A:
You can't modify the crew list unless you own the ship or the ship is assigned to you. If this is not the case you have to contact your direct CO, who will handle it.

Q: What's the difference between a passive scan and a scan focused in a ship?
A:
A passive scan lists all ships withing any allied ship's sensors range in the system, showing the ships' name, type and status, without your possition being detected by the scanned ships. In the other hand, a focused scan can only be done on a single ship at the same time and within your sensors range, you get more data like owner of the ship, weapons, shielding, passangers, ships in hangar, etc but the scanned ships detects your position, type and name of your ship.

Q: When i make a scan, there are some enemy ships on which i can't make a FOCUSED SCAN although they appear listed when i make a passive scanning.
A:
You can only make a focused scan on a ship within your sensors range. When you make a passive scan, ships inside other allied ships' sensors range will be included in the readouts even if they are not inside your ship's sensor range. You can't make a focused scan onto those ships.

Q: I am a PASSANGER in a ship and don't know the ETA to destination.
A:
Only way of knowing is asking the pilot of the ship. If you are being ferried to your assignment, make sure to ask him asap and write down the arrival date so you can inform your unit CO of your arrival.

Q: How can i know the LOCATION of my ships?
A:
If they are assigned to you then go to the ships' inventory sheets and click on 'stats' on the right of the desired ships. If the ships are not assigned to you then you can only ask your CO.

Q: I'm travelling in HYPERSPACE to a wrong coordinates and I want to abort.
A:
Only sublight travel can be safely aborted. If you jump towards a wrong destination you can't do anything but wait to arrive. If you choose to abort during a hyperspace jump you could end up in a sun and the your ship might be destroyed while your character could die. Always double-check destination before jumping to hyperspace and never use hyperspace abort.

Q: I have a problem and answer is not here!
A:
Then either mail your CO or post your question in the mandalore board, or if you are in a rush then go to IRC (server: irc.redbat.org #cmg-mandalore or #swc-help. You can download mIRC from http://www.mirc.com/ and install it on your computer. Check the IRC FAQ if you need more help with it or ask a fellow mandalore member.
